New internship programme for people with autism at SAP

The University of Cambridge and the Germany software company, SAP, will join forces to create technology internships for people with autism.  The partnership is planning to create a five-year agreement to identify talented students as part of SAP’s ‘Autism at Work’ project.

The whole internship process will be autism-friendly and compliant with the Department of Health’s Autism Strategy in England. Students will be placed in one of the five SAP locations in America, Canada, Ireland, India or Germany.

SAP is hoping that by 2020, 1 per cent of its global workforce will be people with autism.
