Public Hearing: Ending forced sterilisation of women and girls with disabilities

Women and girls with disabilities in Europe continue to be deprived of many of their human rights, including being sterilised against their consent or knowledge, depriving them from their dignity and power over their sexual and reproductive rights.

On 5 December 2017, EDF is holding a hearing aiming to raise awareness on ending forced sterilisation of women and girls with disabilities and call for the prohibition of all forms of violence against women.
The hearing is co-hosted by MEP Soraya Post and EDF Vice-President Ana Pelaez and will copunt with the participation of Autism-Europe’s Director Aurélie Baranger as speaker.
Women with disabilities from all over Europe, women’s rights organisations, civil society, human rights stakeholders, representatives of the United Nations and EU institutions will gather for this important event.
