Autism-Europe

Autism-Europe campaign for World Autism Awareness Day 2023

Autism-Europe is marking United Nations World Autism Awareness Day.

We celebrated on 2 April and during all of April.

In 2023 Autism-Europe is 40 year old.

We have a campaign about making society inclusive autistic people.

This campaign has 5 goals.

We want all people to understand autism better.

We want autistic people to have the right to make their own decisions.

Rights mean things you can and cannot do.

We want autistic people to always have the support they need.

We want that everything is accessible for autistic people.

Accessible means to understand and reach everything.

We want that autistic people are not treated badly because of their autism.

Autism-Europe also made a photo exhibition about autism at the European Parliament.

A photo exhibition is where artists show their pictures.

The European Parliament is an important political forum.

The photo exhibition opened on 28 March and it stayed for 1 week.

The photo exhibition showed 25 pictures from 10 artists.

The 25 pictures help people understand autism.

The pictures show life stories of autistic people.

You can see the 25 photos and read about the artists in our booklet.
