Reporting to the Director and the Communications Manager , the Communications Officer will assist with media relations, publications, online presence and events.\u00a0 He\/she will manage internal and external information tools and coordinate the AE awareness raising campaigns as well as its dissemination work.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Roles and responsibilities<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Communications <\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Implementing and developing Autism-Europe\u2019s communication strategy (website, online and offline publications, social media, media relations, advertisement, easy-to-read versions, awareness-raising documents, graphic design, etc.), under the supervision of the Director and the Executive committee.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Managing the implementation of the awareness-raising campaign \u2013 in particular around World Autism Awareness Day<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Monitoring of the implementation of the \u00a0dissemination strategy<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Liaising with designers and printers to produce high-quality materials<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Implementing the communication strategy of different European projects (including website, social media, \u00a0newsletters, etc.) in which AE is the lead dissemination partner<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Contributing to internal communication and liaising with members<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Contributingto the organization of governing bodies meetings as well as conferences and events.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Representing AE at events and meetings across Europe<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Developing press contacts and promoting AE visibility<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><strong>Fundraising <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Implementing fund-raising activities<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Supporting the Director in drafting project applications and reports about ongoing projects<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Requirements for the position<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><strong>Essential<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Degree in communications or journalism<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Excellent writing skills in English<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Interest in promoting awareness of autism<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Experience in website content management (ex. WordPress), including good understanding of information architecture; website ergonomics and accessibility<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Experience in effectively managing promotion and outreach through websites, newsletter mailing system (Mailchimp) and social media<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Strong graphic design, art\/illustration, and visual storytelling background with a creative aesthetic<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">IT proficiency (MS Office tools and &#8211; Adobe Creative Suite)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Experience managing high-profile events<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Knowledge of EU policy and understanding of disability issues<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Perfect conversational skills to use with members and external stakeholders<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">A flexible and can do approach, ability to work to tight deadlines<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Pro-active, ability to multi-task and prioritise<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Attention to details<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Ability to function in small team<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Ability to work autonomously and to take initiatives<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><strong>Desirable<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Additional degree in European Policy \/ Social Science \/ similar field<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Fluency in French, knowledge of another European language<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Video and Image editing skills including technical skills in Adobe (InDesign, Premiere Pro)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Familiarity with the international non-profit sector<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">What we offer<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">6-months contract according to Belgian law.
