Its fourth edition will take place in Brussels on 20 May 2019.<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"ecl-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">This is an opportunity for the EU to:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul class=\"ecl-list\">\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">reflect on its social dimension and on how to adapt our social models to current and future challenges,<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">develop long-term solutions to fight\u00a0poverty, increase employment and strengthen social cohesion and inclusion for all.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 id=\"navItem-2\" class=\"ecl-heading ecl-heading--h2\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Inclusive Growth post-2020: looking at the future of Social Europe<\/span><\/h2>\n<p class=\"ecl-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">This year, the one-day event will focus on the\u00a0<strong>future of Social Europe<\/strong>. The\u00a0<a class=\"ecl-link\" href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/social\/main.jsp?catId=1226&amp;langId=en\">European Pillar of Social Rights<\/a>, the\u00a0<a class=\"ecl-link\" href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/europeaid\/policies\/european-development-policy\/2030-agenda-sustainable-development_en\">2030 Agenda<\/a>\u00a0and the\u00a0<a class=\"ecl-link\" href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/commission\/future-europe\/eu-budget-future_en\">new multiannual financial framework<\/a>\u00a0(MFF) are providing the structure for our work on social and economic inclusion in the years ahead.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"ecl-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">The plenary debate and the workshops will tackle specific issues and lead to conclusions and policy recommendations.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"navItem-3\" class=\"ecl-heading ecl-heading--h2\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Interactive workshops for audience engagement<\/span><\/h2>\n<p class=\"ecl-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Seven morning\u00a0<strong>workshops<\/strong>\u00a0will look at the various policy areas that are relevant for inclusive growth objectives:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Implementing the European Pillar of Social Rights as the vehicle for the Sustainable Development Goals in the social area,<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Improving social policy governance in Europe: cross-sector collaboration, public-private partnerships,<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Let\u2019s talk to each other: how to improve communicating Social Europe with the EU citizens,<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Adapting to the future of work: from childhood to adult and ongoing learning,<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">How the next MFF and its financial instruments can be best used for inclusive growth,<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">The future of the EU Disability Strategy,<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Social services: integrated approaches as a means to deliver the Pillar.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p class=\"ecl-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Side events will give participants the chance to share their experiences and ideas in the afternoon while a \u2018speed-dating\u2019 session will boost the exchange of best practices on how to turn the Pillar of Social Rights into reality.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"ecl-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">The convention will be opened by\u00a0<strong>Marianne Thyssen<\/strong>, Commissioner for Employment, Social Affairs, Skills and Labour Mobility.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Annual Convention for Inclusive Growth is an action-oriented platform bringing together civil society organisations and policymakers to discuss how to achieve truly inclusive growth.
