SUMMARY:Breakfast Event on the SDGs and European Pillar of Social Rights- Brussels
DESCRIPTION:Eurodiaconia is organising a breakfast discussion in the European Parliament with the title Sustainable Development Goals vs European Pillar of Social Rights? – Making Two Frameworks Work Together. The event will be hosted by MEP Jean Lamberts. \nThe event aims to gather key EU policy-makers and stakeholders to discuss how those two frameworks could be brought closer to each other\, with the ultimate aim of facilitating and encouraging their effective implementation across the EU. In view of a new post 2020 strategy\, the Sustainable Development Goals and European Pillar of Social Rights should play key roles. Therefore\, there is a need to discuss complementarities of both frameworks\, as well as opportunities and potential challenges of a joint implementation. \nEurodiaconia will also launch a research paper\, which takes a closer look at the EPSR and SDGs and opportunities of bringing them together in a strong overarching framework. \nEvent’s draft agenda \nRegister here by 4 May at the latest
