On 10 June 2016, the 7th Work Forum on the implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD) “Consolidating the ground for implementation: 10 years after the CRPD”, organised by the European Commission, took place in Brussels.
The Work Forum is an important platform to share experiences and promote solutions to common challenges across the EU. This year the Work Forum focused on three important topics: the human rights approach to disability; the implementation of the CRPD through strategies; and the implementation of Article 28 of the CRPD (Social protection and adequate standard of living).
The report, published in October 2016 in English, French and German, summarises the main points and challenges that were highlighted during the Work Forum by the different speakers and participants.
