Autism-Europe hold its Council of Administration meeting in Brussels on 14–15 November 2025

Autism-Europe was delighted to welcome its members to Brussels on 14–15 November 2025 for the second Council of Administration meeting of the year. The gathering provided an opportunity to reflect on our collective achievements over the past year and to shape our plans for the future.

Key Highlights from the meeting included:

2025 in Review

Members reviewed Autism-Europe’s activity report, which showcased significant progress on the advocacy front, including the strong recommendations issued by the UN Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) to address challenges faced by autistic people.

We also shared the main takeaways from the Autism-Europe International Congress, which brought together almost 2000 experts and advocates from more than 60 countries for 3 days of learning and exchange.

Planning for 2026 and discussing our advocacy priorities

Discussions focused on strategic priorities for the coming year, including the next phase of our “Not Invisible” campaign, and upcoming projects aimed at strengthening support for the autism community.

A critical area of discussion was the European Commission consultation for the next phase of the EU Disability Strategy for the Rights of persons with disabilities 2021-2030 (open until February 2026) for which AE is preparing its official position paper.

Networking and Exchange

A dedicated networking session allowed members to share their experiences, challenges, and successes at national and regional levels. This exchange of good practices and emerging issues will help inform our collective work moving forward.

Side Events

Members had the opportunity to learn more about Autism-Europe projects, notably FACTS and STID, during dedicated side events.

Autism-Europe thanks all CA members and partners for their active participation and commitment to advancing the rights and inclusion of autistic people across Europe.
