Launched in November 2024, the JobAut Project is a two-year Erasmus+ project focusing on Vocational Education and Training (VET). It brings together five partner organisations across Europe to develop specialised training materials for job coaches and employment professionals who work with autistic people.
About JobAut
Despite their wish to work and their skills, a vast majority of autistic people continue to face systemic barriers that limit their access to inclusive employment opportunities. A key factor is the shortage of professional training programmes and dedicated curricula for job coaches, which means autistic job seekers receive minimal support adapted to their needs.
The JobAut Project aims to provide job coaches and employment professionals with the skills and knowledge to effectively address the needs of autistic people and employers, and facilitate their seamless integration into the workforce.
JobAut priorities
JobAut key open-source outputs and objectives will be:
- E-booklet on Job Placement for Autistic People: This manual contains our key findings and takeaways from our focus groups, and is designed to share best practices.
- Coaching Methodology for Autistic People: This innovative, people-centered approach assesses the competencies, skills, and aspirations of autistic people enabling them to benefit from personalised guidance.
- JobAut Toolkit for professionals: A practical resource for trainers, job coaches, and employment support professionals, containing concrete examples and ready-to-use exercises.
- JobAut e-learning platform: A user-friendly online website to access all JobAut resources.
All materials will follow universal design principles and be translated into multiple languages to ensure accessibility and broader impact across the EU.
More information can be found on the project’s website.
