The Freedom Drive is one of the key campaigns of the European Network on Independent Living (ENIL) – held every two years since 2003. It provides supporters of the Independent Living Movement with the unique opportunity to meet MEPs and promote human rights issues, as well to share experiences and ideas with colleagues from around Europe.
What lessons can be learned from the current EU Disability Strategy 2010-2030? What could be changed or improved in the next EU Strategy 2020-2030? The EESC is organising a public hearing on "Shaping the EU agenda for disability rights 2020-2030" on 21 October 2019, where we will try to give an answer to these questions.
“Innovation in Autism Practice: The Future is Here” seeks to explore how our evolving understanding of autism can, and should, influence service provision. We will place autistic perspectives and experiences at the heart of these discussions.
In accordance with the statutes for our organisation, the 2019 Autism- Europe’s Council of Administration second meeting will take place in Brussels, Belgium, on November 16 and 17, 2019. Side activities will also be organized. All the working documents related to these meetings will be emailed to registered participants at a later date.
Hosted by the European Commission, in partnership with the European disability forum, this event is the opportunity for the EU to mainstream disability issues and to raise awareness of the everyday- life challenges faced by persons with disabilities.
