Vice President of Autism-Europe presents ‘Freedom of movement’ campaign to European Parliament

On September 7, Donata Vivanti, Vice President of Autism-Europe and President of the European Disability Forum took part in a hearing at the European Parliament on the Mobility and inclusion of people with disabilities, held by the European People’s Party (EPP Group)

Donata presented the EDF’s ‘Freedom of movement’ campaign, to inform high level European officials of the barriers faced by people with disabilities across Europe when studying, looking for a job, travelling, purchasing goods and services or simply accessing information, in other EU member states.    

The hearing was hosted by Ádám Kósa MEP (EPP Group, Hungary), the only deaf MEP in the European Parliament. Other participants included Viviane Reding, Vice-President of the European Commission responsible for Justice, Fundamental Rights and Citizenship, and Morten Kjaerum, Director, European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights.
