The United Nations’ annual International Day of Persons with Disabilities will this year adopt the theme ‘Removing barriers to create an inclusive and accessible society for all’.
This day offers disability organisations another opportunity to address the social exclusion of persons with disabilities by promoting inclusion and accessibility.
An event to launch the preparatory processes for the United Nations High-level meeting of the General Assembly on disability and development in 2013 and the ‘United Nations Enable Film Festival’ were also held in New York on December 3, 2012.
In Brussels, Autism-Europe participated in several events to mark this important day, including a conference at the European Commission, the Access City Awards 2013 and the European Parliament of Persons with Disabilities (link?? And which other events were held??).
