The 67th session of the United Nations General Assembly has passed a resolution in support of people who have autism.
The resolution acknowledges the needs of people with autism and encourages Member States to adopt integrated approaches to accommodating them, including: access to appropriate support services and education, social inclusion, awareness raising, research, training for professionals and data collection at national level.
The resolution shows high level in-principle support for people with autism from the United Nations that should be taken on board by Member States. There are, however, no funds or programs directly associated with this resolution at the UN level.
