Brazil enacts law recognising people with autism as people with disabilities

In December 2012, Brazil approved a federal law establishing the National Policy for the Protection of the Rights of the Persons with Autism Spectrum Disorder. The new law recognises people with autism as people with disabilities for all legal purposes. The new law has been created in the framework of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
