Dutch parliament unanimously adopts the UN CRPD

In January 2016, the Dutch House of Representatives accepted the ratification-law and the implementation-law on the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UN CRPD) following the debate in the Senate. The next step will be for this chamber to officially approve the Convention and then to ratify it.

The Alliance for the Implementation of the UN Convention committed to both a careful and speedy ratification, as well as a vigorous implementation. The Alliance also looks forward to the consideration of the UN Convention in the Senate. With this action, The Netherlands is one of the last country in the  European Union that still has to  to officially ratify the UN CRPD, alongside Finland and Ireland.
