DAPHNE (1997 – 1998)

Running from 1997 to 1998, the DAPHNE project took account of the fact that concern about violence against persons with disabilities has been increasing, but that there had been no European perspective on the frameworks and actions undertaken in this regard.

There had also been no real attempt to distinguish different categories of disability, but rather people with disabilities had been considered as a homogeneous group.

This project aimed to look specifically at autistic people and to draft a Code of Good Practice within the guiding principles of Autism-Europe’s Charter of Rights.
