The aim of this European Parliament Informal Carers Interest Group meeting is to highlight the situation of young carers; to underline their needs and challenges; to come forward with recommendations on how to address these needs and to explore possibilities for EU level action to ensure policy attention for young carers across the board.

La conférence « Que nous apprennent les personnes avec autisme ? » sera assurée par le Dr Pierre Defresne, Médecin-directeur de la Fondation SUSA et Nathalie Lampole, pédagogue spécialisée dans l'accompagnement des autistes et formatrice au sein de l'Espace du Possible.

Dr Wenn Lawson (psychologist, lecturer and author) wil explore autism and gender dysphoria, referencing both academic knowledge and understanding along with his own personal story and anecdotal accounts. He also addresses some of the research relating to autistic individuals living with conflicting gender and sexuality issues.

Opening Doors for Europe’s Children – a pan-European coalition of 124 civil society organisations campaigning to strengthen families and end institutional care – releases recommendations to the EU at a critical moment for the reform of child protection in Europe.

Around 100 parents, professionals, students, policy-makers (including the mayor of the city of Limassol), journalists and other stakeholders will participate on the third multiplier event held in the framework of the European project “Equity and Social Inclusion through Positive Parenting” (ESIPP).
