The number of children and adults being diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders is increasing dramatically throughout the world. There is thus a desperate need for parents, family members, professionals, as well as people with autism, to be empowered with knowledge to optimise outcomes for all individuals with Autism.
Under the slogan "Autism, Understanding Diversity" (“AutismoS, Entendiendo la Diversidad” in Spanish), AETAPI want to highlight this year the protagonism of people with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), the visualization and experience of their diversity, the enhancement of their abilities and strengths, as well as the role that It has society -which we have each and every one- in its inclusion as full citizens.

The purpose of this conference is to mark the one year anniversary since the Proclamation of the EU’s Pillar of Social Rights – an important milestone in shifting the compass of the EU towards being more social and inclusive.
This event will try to answer the questions mentioned above with the clear goal to investigate an expansion of the pilot project to make it into a truly European initiative. Both national authorities as well as Disabled Persons’ Organisations and Card holders will be able to express their views.
