This webinar will be an opportunity for the European Commission, representatives of the disability movement and the author of the Commission's upcoming guide to discuss these practices and the situation of employment of persons with disabilities in the EU.
the online event will mark this important milestone for digital accessibility and participation in the EU. Key stakeholders will highlight achievements and remaining challenges in terms of practical implementation of web accessibility from different perspectives, including policy makers, Member States, activists, users, academia and accessibility professionals.
To help EDF members and other disabilities advocates negotiate strong adoption of the Accessibility Act by their governments, EDF organises this webinar to: • provide an overview of the Act, including its scope, objectives, monitoring and enforcement mechanisms, the role of the national surveillance authorities; • advise organisations of persons with disabilities on how to effectively advocate for ambitious transposition of the Act. We will base our recommendations on the EDF toolkit for transposition of the European Accessibility Act, which we will publish before the webinar.
