Membership

Autism-Europe welcomes applications from new members. We have the following categories of organisation members:

Full members

Full members are national associations, legally constituted, composed of a majority of people with autism or parents of persons with autism and whose board is composed of a majority of people with autism and parents of persons with autism (500 votes at the General Assembly).

Affiliated members

Affiliated members are regional associations, legally constituted, composed of a majority of people with autism or parents of people with autism and whose board is composed of a majority of people with autism or parents of people with autism (50 votes at the General Assembly).

Associated members

Associated members are associations, legally constituted, that do not have a majority of people with autism or parents of people with autism on their board or that do not deal exclusively with autism (for example, associations for mental disability) (20 votes at the General Assembly). 

Non-European members

Non-European members comprising national or regional organizations from countries that are not European.These members shall have 5 votes each (voting in person or by proxy).

 

All applications for member associations must be done by first contacting our secretariat at secretariat@autismeurope.org.

To officially apply as an organisation you will need to send a formal letter, together with:

  • the statutes of your association (originals together with a certified translation in English or French);
  •  your most recent statutory accounts;
  • a brief account of what you have been able to achieve for people with autism and what you hope to achieve in the future;
  • letters of recommendation from two sponsor organisations who are full or affiliated members of Autism-Europe.

Your application will then be submitted to Autism-Europe’s Annual General Assembly.

Individual members

You can support Autism-Europe’s actions in favour of people with autism by becoming an individual member. The annual membership fee is €30 (€32 via PayPal) and includes a one-year subscription to LINK magazine, which is published twice a year.

Honorary members

Honorary members comprising organizations, corporations or individuals wishing to show their support for the action of Autism-Europe. Individual and Honorary members shall have one vote each (voting in person or by proxy).
